Middletown, NJ - The heavy rain did not stop the Colts from competing hard at the Monmouth County Meet. The Colts took the crown Friday night in wet conditions with a whopping 155.5 points to outdistance second place Rumson-Fair Haven by over 100 points.
Throwers Load Up the Points
The throwers made the biggest noise for CBA. They added to their 1-2-4 in the discus (completed Wednesday) with a 1-2-3 in the javelin. Jack Ostrowky '23 took the win with a throw of 161'7". Jack Ryan '22 and Code Abutel '23 finished the sweep with throws of 158'7" and 153'11". Shot putters Robert Manse III '22, Tyler Mayerhoff '22 and Hugh Straine '22 finished 2nd, 3rd and 6th with throws of 55'10", 53'11" and 49'2" respectively. All together the throwers scored 61 points over the two days.
Coleman '23 Hits Sub 15 in the HH
Kam Coleman '23 won his first county title in the high hurdles. Kam ran a personal best of 14.97, his first time under 15. Matt Herman joined him on the podium in 16.31. Kam also placed 2nd in the triple jump with a jump of 43'3.75".
The Colts Win All 3 Relays
The two sprint relays also took home big wins. The 4 x 100 meter team of Tyler Straley '23, Aidan Kane '23, Declan Picadio '23 and Aidan MacManus '23 won in 45.11. The 4 x 400 team of Joe Silvestri '22, Aidan MacMcanus '23, Ben Skrincosky '22 and Matt Herman '23 wrapped up the meet with a win in 3:25.82. The Colt quartets swept all three relays at the meet (the 4 x 800 team won on Wednesday).
Barrett '25 Rips an All Time Frosh 3200
Joe Barrett '25 became the 2nd fastest freshman 3200 runner in CBA history with his 9:23.94 for 4th place. Only Blaise Ferro '16 is faster at 9:13.26. Alex Kemp '24 placed 5th in 9:36.16.
Workhorse Skrincosky Vaults to 3rd
Ben Skrincosky '22 finished 3rd in the pole vault in 12'. He placed in the 400IH, PV, and the 4 x 400.
