Coach Torchia has been head coach for the Winter and Spring track teams and assistant for XC since 2002.  

 

Since joining the CBA program, Karl led the team to 37 state championships and well over 100 All Americans.  On the local level, Coach Torchia’s teams have won 56 county championships and 24 Shore Conference Championships.  

 

Before coming to CBA, Coach Torchia spent 7 years at Middletown South.  His MS teams won 6 state championships and an NJSIAA Meet of Champions title in XC.

 

Through his years at MS and CBA, Coach Torchia has earned 42 coach of the year honors.  Two of those honors were national level awards (USA Today and The National Federation of Coaches).

 

As an athlete, Coach Torchia competed in the decathlon at the University of West Virginia.
