Holmdel, NJ - November 8th is the best Saturday of the year. There are 12 team titles and 12 individual titles between 6 groups and both genders. The Colts get their chance to win at 11 am when they take on the best of the Non Public A schools. The boys are ranked 4th in the USA and 1st in the Northeast and NJ. The Colts are coming off wins at the Shore Conference and NJCTC.

Meet Basics

• NPA Race goes off at 11:00 am at Holmdel Park

• There is no parking in the park. Spectators may park in Bell Works and either walk or take a shuttle bus.

CBA State Meet History

The Colts have won 3 NPA titles in a row and 33 overall. Their first win came in 1976 when Ron Gale finished 2nd to Bergen Catholic's Kevin Byrne on the old layout of Holmdel Park. Steve Kustera, Jack Lawrence, John Fodor and Sean O'Brien cleaned up the scoring on that historic day. The Tom Heath led team beat Bergen Catholic by 8 points. You can find results to that meet here. The Colts have won 12 of the last 13 NPA titles. The boys set the course and over state meet record in 2023 and again in 2024. The 5 man average of 15:50.4 from last year's NPA meet is now #2 all time on the course behind the same team's Meet of Champions race a week later. That record is 15:42. The team of Joe Barrett '25, Ryan Schmitt '25, Alex Mastroly '25, Gavin Schmitt '27, and Luke Hnatt '26 were the scoring 5 in both races, though in different order. 2 Time NPA Champ Blaise Ferro '16 (#558) with teammate Louis Grivalja. Blaise was a scoring member on 2 NCAA title teams including 2 All-American finishes.

Individual History

Individually, Chris Bennett '94 was CBA's first winner in 1993 (results here). Joe Barrett '25 won the race 3 times from 2022-2024. Joe is the only Colt to win 3 XC state titles. All CBA winners include:
