XC Dominates at Manhattan Invite

The Bronx, NY - The XC team took on Van Cortlandt Park for the Manhattan Invite, which features the Eastern State Championships. In 4 races, the boys won 3 and finished 2nd in another. It was a banner day for the Colts.

The 50th version of the Manhattan Invite proved rewarding for the team. The varsity team of Nick Sullivan '23, Joe Barrett '25, Jack Falkowski '24, Lucas Ward '23 and Zach Shroba '23 scored 72 points to win over Corning by almost 100 points. The team's average of 12:53 was #3 in school history. Sullivan moved to #10 on the CBA All time list and Barrett became the 2nd fastest sophomore in school history and 10th best in course history!

The freshmen got the team started in the freshmen 'C' race in the AM. With an average of 9:04 and 47 points, the boys won big over Manhasset. Their time of 9:04 was the second best of the day behind only Guilderland. Wyatt Falkowski led the team with a school record 8:18.6. This time beat the record held by Paul Marabito from 1979. Sean Galvin, Luke Hnatt, Ryan Collins and James Boyce completed the top 5.

Our sophomores were missing Alex Mastroly, but almost managed a win. The team of Carter Cox, Thomas Field, Braeden Cullen, Michael Elsayegh, and Ryan Shibles ran a stellar race and missed the win by 8 points to West Windsor North.

The JV team of Conor Clifford '24, Matt Mastroly '23, Will DeMarco '24, Kevin Allen '23 and Brady Barber '24 scored a perfect 15. Their average of 13:43 was the best JV team of the day. Clifford's time of 13:23 is the 12th fastest JV time in meet history.
