Jamesburg, NJ - The freshmen traveled to the annual Freshmen State Championship at Thompson Park in Jamesburg. The boys won the 9th state title in school history, a state record.

(Right to left) Wyatt Falokowski '26, Sean Galvin '26 and Luke Hnatt '26 went 1-2-3 in the Freshmen State Meet

Wyatt Falkowski '26, Sean Galvin '26 and Luke Hnatt '26 wasted no time in a race of the state's best freshmen teams. Shortly after the gun went off, the trio took over and controlled the race to the finish line. Will Sakoutis '26 and Ryan Collins '26 followed and placed themselves in the top 10 and 20 respectively and James Boyce '26 and Declan Cummins '26 ran the best races of their season. At the finish, it was all CBA! Falkowski took the win in 17:33 with Galvin and Hnatt close behind in 2nd and 3rd. Sakoutis and Collins finished our scoring with 6th and 16th places.

The boys scored 27 points to beat the field. Since the meet began in 2007, CBA has won 9 titles. Athletic Director Mike Mazzaccaro was the meet's inaugural winner in 2007 when he led CBA to the first title. He ran 17:22 for the win that day. Also of note, Cynthia DeSousa reminded us that her son, Chris '21, finished 22nd in this meet in 18:22. Chris would go on to break 16 at Holmdel and will be running in the BIG 10 Championship for Penn State this weekend.

Congratulations to Coach Conor Lunny '15. This was his first state win as the freshmen coach. He has helped this team win the Manhattan Invite, Monmouth County, The Shore Conference and State Titles. This freshmen team is crucial to the success of our program. We are glad they have a good leader.
